Emphasis is given to the causes of these problems and the factors that increase their vulnerability to neglect, abuse, exploitation, manipulation, mistreatment, and crime. Other topics include the protection and welfare of children, women, and the elderly at the global, regional, and national levels, particularly in Malaysia. Attention is also given to the efforts that society can undertake to address the issues surrounding these groups, ensuring they are not left behind or neglected in the pursuit of societal progress. At the end of the course, students will manage a final project as a method of assessment.
