ABOUT STUDENT AUXILIARY FIRE BRIGADE
GET TO KNOW THE USIM STUDENT FIRE BRIGADE CORPS
The Student Auxiliary Fire Brigade (SBB) course was established in September 2016 upon the request of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) to the Negeri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia.The implementation of the teaching sessions was entrusted to instructors appointed from the Nilai Fire and Rescue Station under the directive of the State Director.
This course is designed to provide knowledge and basic exposure to firefighting and rescue based on the Human Skills elements set by the Center for Human Skills Development (PPKI).It aims to equip students with fundamental knowledge of firefighting through theoretical and practical methods, enabling them to clearly understand the role of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department. Additionally, it provides students with essential skills in rescue methods, fire extinguishing, and fire prevention.

ACTIVITIES AND TRAINING
LEARNING SESSIONS
The Student Auxiliary Fire Brigade (SBB) is a 1-credit hour subject conducted over three semesters, with a total learning duration of 120 hours:
• Semester 1: 40 hours
• Semester 2: 40 hours
• Semester 3: 40 hours
The learning sessions for the Student Auxiliary Fire Brigade (USIM) course are conducted through theoretical and practical approaches.
The theoretical sessions occur every Wednesday, while the practical sessions are held every Saturday.
The theoretical classes are conducted in lecture halls at USIM, while practical training is carried out at the drill ground of the Nilai Fire and Rescue Station.
